LIFE - The Financial Instrument for the Environment

LIFE is the EU’s financial instrument supporting environmental and nature conservation projects throughout the EU, as well as in some candidate, acceding and neighbouring countries. Since 1992, LIFE has co-financed some 3104 projects, contributing approximately €2.2 billion to the protection of the environment.

Eco-Schools - The COM-U project, Communicating environmental actions to children and youth implemented an awareness raising campaign on the EU environmental policy and in particular the sixth environmental action programme. COM-U was a national demonstration project (between 2009 and 2011) and was partly financed by the EU fund LIFE+. The main objective of the project was to create a well informed generation that has the tools and the power to act and is able to tackle environmental issues.
